Organization Description: The Royal Canadian Theatre Company is a not-for-profit community theatre company located and operating in the City of Surrey. In operation since 2006, the Royal Canadian Theatre Company has worked to provide a non-discriminatory, safe, respectful, creative environment for theatre artists at all stages of development and bring affordable, high value community productions to the lower mainland.
Job Description: This is a part-time, seasonal role offered through the Canada Summer Jobs Grant. The start date is June 10, 2024 and is 30 hours a week for 8 weeks. The Marketing Assistant will be working under the direction and mentorship of the current General Manager, Crystal Weltzin.
Responsibilities: Creating graphic images, posters, rack cards and content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Twitter (based on the 2024/2025 productions) Using Buffer and Facebook Meta to post for the company Write and build newsletters on Moosend and press releases for 2024/2025 productions Working with the Marketing Coordinator to create marketing plans for the 2024/2025 season Applicants will need to be able to work remotely. Laptop will be provided.
Qualifications: Confidence with Social Media, especially Facebook and Instagram Experience with Microsoft Word, Pages or Google Docs and writing effectively Ideal candidate has good organisational skills and attention to detail Experience with online systems like Canva and Buffer are a plus Experience with editing systems like photoshop are a plus Fluent in English
MUST BE: - between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment. - a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or person who has been granted refugee status under the immigration and protection act. - legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial legislation and regulations.
