We are looking for a - Summer Position

We are excited to offer the following position for the Summer of 2026:

  • Production Assistant 

Please note:

Responsibilities

  • Distributing graphic images, posters, rack cards and content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X and to Surrey/New Westminster facilities.
  • Write and build newsletters on Moosend and press releases for 2026/2027 productions
  • Build production schedules for Fall and Winter productions.
  • Assist and oversee the first part of rehearsal and production for “Murder for Two” in August.
  • Facilitate production meeting for “Murder for Two”.
  • Applicants will need to be able to work remotely. A Laptop can be provided by request.

Qualifications:

  • Confidence with Social Media, and Canva.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Pages or Google Docs and writing effectively.
  • Fluent in English 
  • Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment.
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN); and
  • Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or person who has been granted refugee status under the immigration and protection act.
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial legislation and regulations.
  • NOTE: International students are not eligible participants.

Remuneration:

$18.25

Commitment:

30 hours a week for 8 weeks

Starting Date:

July 2, 2026

End Date:

August 27, 2026

Assistant Instructor Positions 2025 - FILLED

We are looking for an

We are excited to offer the following position starting Fall 2025:

  • Assistant Instructor – Musical Theatre

Please note:

Responsibilities

  • Work with the lead instructor to prepare 1.25 hour class plans for beginner and intermediate musical theatre participants. Assist lead instructor with 1.25 hours for groups of children between the ages of 8-12 musical theatre.
  • Keep children safe at all times while teaching. 
  • Attend all classes for which they are requested to teach, on time and prepared to work and will present themselves in a professional manner at all times. Specific dates communicated beforehand can be covered by substitute instructors.
  • Take good care of props and costumes loaned to them for the class, understanding that any damage caused other than during the class (i.e. spilt coffee) will be their liability.
  • Adhere to all known City Policies including the Code of Conduct, Supporting Children and Youth and the RCTC Class Agreement policies.
  • Send monthly invoices for remuneration. 

Qualifications:

  • Background in teaching/instruction preferred
  • Background in Musical Theatre preferred
  • Fluent in English 

Requirements:

  • Emergency or Standard First Aid and CPR-C
  • Police Information Check with the Vulnerable Sector

Remuneration:

$25.00

Commitment:

5 Hours a week for 10 weeks

In RCTC’s classes, students will explore the fundamentals of musical theatre, including vocal techniques, basic dancing and choreography, building characters, and stage presence. Through personalized instruction and constructive feedback, our instructors empower each student to discover their unique voice and express themselves with confidence on stage.
