The Royal Canadian Theatre Company would like to respectfully recognize that the land in which we rehearse, work and perform on today is within the traditional, stolen and unceded territories of the Coast Salish Peoples. This includes Semiahmoo, Katzie, Kwikwetlem, Kwantlen, Qayqayt and Tsawwassen First Nations, as well as the Halkomelem speaking peoples.
“Sept. 30 is an opportunity for Indigenous people and communities to take time for themselves to grieve and mourn, and not put in so much work to educate people…Today is a reminder that it’s also Orange Shirt Day, which preceded National Day for Truth and Reconciliation by several years. (Please) wear orange shirts in public or hang shirts outside your homes… Participating is a way to show you’re trying.” – Camille Louis
