**While there is some flexibility in the rehearsal schedule for conflicts if you are not available, in general, for the set rehearsal schedule either ask about your conflicts or do not submit.
First Read September 20, 6pm
Sept - Dec: Tuesdays 6:30-10pm (Principals only), Sundays 12-6pm (ALL)
***There will be reserve rehearsals for Principal characters starting Thursdays Nov 17th.
***There will be a Saturday Rehearsal for ALL cast on Saturday, December 12th
Casting non-union roles
- Honourarium Paid
All ethnicities and backgrounds are encouraged to audition.
Singing and dancing required for all characters.

Auditions:Monday, June 8th from 6pm-10pm
If you're unavailable, please send us a one minute song (either A Cappella or with a backtrack) and a self tape of the character you're interested in.

(Only those invited to callbacks will be contacted. Those invited will be given sides to prepare and read.)

Silly Billy$75/performance - principalIdle Jack character. They are friends to all the children in the audience and brother to Jack and Lucy. Has great ideas that tend to get him daydreaming. Musical Theatre Instructor

We are looking for a - Summer Position

We are excited to offer the following position for seasonal contracted work starting April 2026:

  • Musical Theatre Instructor

Please note:

  • We thank all applicants in advance for their interest.
  • Regretfully we will only be able to reply to applicants selected for interview.
  • Deadline to Apply May 15, 2026

Responsibilities

  • Prepare 1.25 hour class plans for beginner and intermediate musical theatre participants. Teach or co-teach 1.25 hours for groups of children between the ages of 7-12 musical theatre.
  • Keep children safe at all times while teaching. 
  • Attend all classes for which they are requested to teach, on time and prepared to work and will present themselves in a professional manner at all times. Specific dates communicated beforehand can be covered by substitute instructors.
  • Take good care of props and costumes loaned to them for the class, understanding that any damage caused other than during the class (i.e. spilt coffee) will be their liability.
  • Adhere to all known City Policies including the Code of Conduct, Supporting Children and Youth and the RCTC Class Agreement policies.
  • Send monthly invoices for remuneration.

Qualifications

  • Background in teaching/instruction preferred
  • Background in Musical Theatre preferred
  • Fluent in English 

Requirements:

  • Emergency or Standard First Aid and CPR-C
  • Police Information Check with the Vulnerable Sector

Remuneration:

$32.50

Commitment:

5 hour shifts on Wednesdays for 9 weeks (3pm-8pm)
