Slow Food
January 2024
Written by Wendy MacLeod
Directed by Crystal Weltzin

Slow Food tells the story of a vacationing couple who celebrate their anniversary at a Greek restaurant in Palm Springs—but will the marriage survive the service? As a needy waiter insinuates his way into their meal—and their lives—the couple examines their past and their future together.

Join us at the Sheraton Vancouver Guildford for dinner and a show (or Brunch!), in partnership with the Dine Out Vancouver Festival.

Gourmet food & hilarious live theatre
all in the luxurious surroundings of a first class hotel

Theatre paired with a three course gourmet meal from the award-winning chef of one of BC’s most prestigious hotels, this is a night to remember, and one to help banish the blahs that always seem to plague us after the holidays. The perfect evening to enjoy with family members, friends, clients and it all takes place in the same luxurious surroundings.

Going to a restaurant for your anniversary should be easy… right? Not so when your airplane was delayed, your rental car wasn’t there, and every restaurant in Palm Springs seems to be closed by the time you finally get to your hotel. This restaurant isn’t your first choice, and the waiter manning your table is probably your last choice. Come and enjoy the hijinks of a desperate couple trapped by a narcissistic waiter in this zany production while you enjoy an amazing 3 course meal at the incredible Sheraton Vancouver Guildford Hotel.

Blithe Spirit

You'll get his trademark wit, with ectoplasm and ghosts ('My wife's funeral exhausted her!').

Luke Jones

Blithe Spirit

Noel Coward wrote Blithe Spirit as a distraction during World War II and it’s the perfect comedic distraction for our own troubled times.

Chloe Kerr

Mousetrap

...the succession of neatly plotted twists and the final unexpected reveal create a well-oiled comedy.

We were in the audience @surreyartscentre last night. The play was thoroughly delightful. You were your always talented and artistic self and the audience loved you for it. We went home and checked out the 1949 Blithe Spirit movie with Margaret Rutherford. So wonderful to be back at live theatre. Thank you to all who made this happen.
