Another tour-de-force for our actors who again play all the roles in this brilliantly funny and affectionate look back at the classic Hollywood comedies of the 30s and 40s. This Western Exclusive remount picks up where we were forced to stop in 2020 due to some bug or other.

The unforgettable Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn were just two of the stars of the Screwball Comedies that were so hugely popular in Hollywood in the 1930s and 40s.  Fast talking, gag cracking hilarity that had them rolling in the aisles back in the day, is now given an update and made even funnier by the foremost of popular Canadian playwrights – the brilliant Norm Foster.

The year is 1938 and the courageous and hardworking Mary Hayes is trying to find a new career. She sets her sights on the male-dominated world of newspaper journalism. The editor-in-chief, sets her against his self-absorbed ace reporter, Jeff Kincaid. If Jeff writes a better story, he gets to keep his job. If Mary wins, she will replace the star newshound. What story do they cover? A society wedding!  A nod to the zany screwball comedies of that time period, this play is full snappy banter, goofy characters and humour that will have you falling out of your seat.

Abruptly ended by COVID, we are now proud bring you the re-launch of our Western Canadian Premiere of this affectionate and hilarious spoof featuring outrageous characters with the added spice of a mystery!
