Cast

Kerri is an Actor, Director, Costumer, Producer and sometime Dramaturg as well as being Artistic Director of RCTC. She has an MFA in Acting from CalArts in Los Angeles. Recent Directing credits include They Came From Mars…..(RCTC), Hamlet (Pacific Theatre – Stones Throw), The Play That Goes Wrong (Gallery 7), The Little Mermaid (RCTC) and You Can’t Take It With You (SAMC Theatre).  Up next, she’ll be directing our spring show The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane (RCTC) and is furiously reading plays for the next season.

Stephen bounces between acting and fight choreography for several companies around the lower mainland. Recent roles include Malvolio in Twelfth Night (Shadows & Dreams) Arthur, Sir Bors, and half the other characters in Spamalot (White Rock), and Dennis in The Play That Goes Wrong (G7). As always, he’d like to thank his family for their love and support.

Samuel carries an immense passion for theatre, in both a performance and a technical capacity.

He’s extremely proud of his previous work with the Royal Canadian Theatre Company as

lighting designer on their productions of The Woman in Black and The Last of the Red Hot Lovers. He is excited by all opportunities to continue honing his technical skills, in addition to his more recent work in performance in a more professional environment, especially with Pizzazz.

Rebecca is so grateful to be working with The Royal Canadian Theatre Company for a third time this season. Second on stage, don’t worry, you didn’t miss her. She most recently assisted with hair and makeup for The Little Mermaid, and before that could be seen crashing around and sleeping on the job as Nora, during their fall production of They Came From Mars… Rebecca is honoured to take part in a production that had such a key role in igniting a flame in two of her incredible friends many, MANY moons ago. She hopes you enjoy the show!

Illya Mulji (she/her/hers) is an emerging performer and choreographer based in Vancouver, B.C. Select credits include Annie (Ensemble/US Lily and Star-To-Be, Gateway Theatre), Good News! (Professor Kenyon, CapU Theatre), Knotted (Choreographer, Royal Canadian Theatre Co.), The Little Mermaid (Choreographer, Royal Canadian Theatre Co.), and Alice By Heart (Asst. Choreographer, CapU Theatre). Upcoming: The Addams Family (Wednesday, CapU Theatre) and The Little Mermaid (Ensemble/US Jetsam, Theatre Under the Stars). She would like to thank her family and friends for their endless support. Enjoy the show!

Crew

Patricia is the co-founder of Shadows and Dreams Theatre Company, where she’s directed Romeo and Juliet, Midsummer Night’s Dream and Love’s Labour’s Lost. Her playwriting credits include the Cleo award winning We Don’t Talk About Book Club (RCTC), The House (TWU), Snow Queen (TWU), Revolutions (Tempest in a Teacup), Grandpa Satan’s Funeral (Shadbolt Centre) and The Super Awesome Dance Club for Fat Chicks and Losers (Shadbolt Centre). She is the recipient of the Betty Lambert Playwright Award and made the longlist for the Voyage YA First Chapters contest.

Sarah Carroll is a performing arts educator and theatre director with experience in international schools worldwide. Her directing credits include Munsch at Play (United Arab Emirates), Stone Soup (Kazakhstan), Circus, Circus, Circus (China) Bots the Musical (South Korea), The Big Bad Wolf on Trial, and Around the World in 8 Plays (California). She is currently co-directing The Magic Tree House: Pirates Past Noon in New Westminster. A former Artist in Residence at Kingston’s H’art Centre, she received the 2018 Accessibility Award for developing the Mixabilities Artist/Educator Training Program—a government-funded initiative supporting artists working with elderly and disabled communities. She is currently in the process of writing a new musical with her husband and creative partner, Noah Pascoe.

Nigel Brooke

Nigel began his theatrical career with a critically-acclaimed turn as ‘Tree’ and ‘Candy Cane’ in Hansel and Gretel at age five. Recently he has designed lights for Footloose, The Play that Goes Wrong and Glory for Gallery 7  as well as We Don’t Talk About Book Club and The Little Mermaid for Royal Canadian Theatre Company. He also occasionally performs and directs, appearing recently as ‘Sir Rupert’ in Jeeves Intervenes for Gallery 7, and directing As You Like It for Shadows and Dreams.

Despite having always had an interest in technical theater, Samuel has not pursued it seriously until recently. After thoroughly enjoying his work last year on Ghost of a Chance and Last of the Red Hot Lovers, he looks forward to working more and more and creating better and better designs with RCTC.

This season, Stephanie has properly moved into the position of Technical Director, and Sound Designer, as well as continuing as Company Stage Manager. So is therefore far too busy building the sets, sourcing props, gathering various comedy noises, and wrangling the rest of the Stage Management team, various casts, and assorted production staff, to write a highly detailed bio, for whichever program is before you. Not even quite sure which month, or even day, it currently is. But, whenever you’re reading this, the show you’re about to see is incredibly hilarious. So sit back, relax (not that much!), and enjoy!

We went to see this last night, the relaxed performance. It was excellent! The Royal Canadian Theatre Company pantos just keep getting better and better. Thank you to everyone involved in the production and Merry Christmas to you all! ~ Sandra Juniper

Cinderella

This was a fantastic show for both adults and children. The cast was on cue with all of the dialog and activity on stage. Thoroughly enjoyed the sisters amnesia and anesthesia. Demon godfather definitely was in the role dealing with both the actors on stage as well as the distractions from the audience.
Kudos to all of the cast and support staff for this excellent entertainment. My granddaughters (10) and I enjoyed it immensely. ~ Jim Thompson

Blithe Spirit

We were in the audience at Surrey Arts Centre last night. The play was thoroughly delightful. You were your always talented and artistic self and the audience loved you for it. We went home and checked out the 1949 Blithe Spirit movie with Margaret Rutherford. So wonderful to be back at live theatre. Thank you to all who made this happen.
