Murder for Two

Murder for Two
September & October 2026

Book by Kellen Blair and Joe Kinosian
Lyrics by Kellen Blair
Music by Joe Kinosian

It takes two to tango and two to pull off a wild musical murder comedy!

Murder for Two is the story of a disastrous surprise birthday party for novelist Arthur Whitney. The big surprise was that one of the guests murdered the novelist because he had the habit of revealing his friends darkest, naughtiest secrets in his novels.

First on the scene is small town cop Marcus Moscowicz, who has dreams of becoming a big city detective, and solving this case in record time could be his ticket to the big time. There are 13 suspects and they all have good reason to want Whitney dead and buried, so Moscowicz has his job cut out for him.

Duration: 2 hours with a 15 minute intermission.

Audience Reactions:

Blithe Spirit

Thanks to rctheatreco for their presentation of Noel Coward’s Blithe Spirit at the Surrey Arts Centre. It is a fabulous & hilarious production featuring Ellie King as Madame Arcati plus other local artists.

Blithe Spirit

We were in the audience at Surrey Arts Centre last night. The play was thoroughly delightful. You were your always talented and artistic self and the audience loved you for it. We went home and checked out the 1949 Blithe Spirit movie with Margaret Rutherford. So wonderful to be back at live theatre. Thank you to all who made this happen.

Crew

Kerri is an Actor, Director, Costumer, Producer and sometime Dramaturg. She has an MFA in Acting from CalArts in Los Angeles. Recent Directing credits include Cinderella (RCTC), The Farnsdale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen’s Guild Dramatic Society Murder Mystery (RCTC), You Can’t Take It With You (SAMC Theatre), Blithe Spirit (RCTC) and Henry V, (Pacific Theatre – Stones Throw). Up next she’ll be directing The Little Mermaid.

This season, Stephanie has properly moved into the position of Technical Director, and Sound Designer, as well as continuing as Company Stage Manager. So is therefore far too busy building the sets, sourcing props, gathering various comedy noises, and wrangling the rest of the Stage Management team, various casts, and assorted production staff, to write a highly detailed bio, for whichever program is before you. Not even quite sure which month, or even day, it currently is. But, whenever you’re reading this, the show you’re about to see is incredibly hilarious. So sit back, relax (not that much!), and enjoy!

*And remember to breathe!*

Looking.

Nigel began his theatrical career with a critically-acclaimed turn as ‘Tree’ and ‘Candy Cane’ in Hansel and Gretel at age five. More recently (and relevantly), he has designed lights for dozens of productions around the Lower Mainland, including Blithe Spirit, Cinderella, Screwball Comedy and more for RCTC, The Sound of Music and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time for Gallery 7 Productions, and many more. He also occasionally performs, appearing recently as ‘Adam Lucas’ in Ghost of a Chance for RCTC and as ‘Sir Rupert’ in Jeeves Intervenes for Gallery 7. In real life, Nigel is a computer programmer, and, oddly enough, does this for “fun”.

Stephen is a Hydrostatic Recertification Technician by day and theatre geek by night. As one of the founding producers of Shadows And Dreams Theatre Co, he can be found in the bandshell at Queen’s Park every summer showing off his Shakespeare. Recent roles include Jaques in As You Like It  (S&D) Arthur, Sir Bors, and half the other characters in Spamalot (White Rock), and Wooster in Jeeves Intervenes (G7). When not on stage, he is often called upon as a Fight Choreographer, recently having worked on The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen’s Guild Dramatic Society Murder Mystery (RCTC), Tale of Two Cities (Gallery7), and We Are The Body (Pacific Theatre). As always, he’d like to thank his family for their love and support.
